situated right in the heart of the historic village of

motorway, and airports. London Paddington is within 1.5 hours
from Kemble Station, which is about 12 miles from Sherston.
The M4 motorway Junctions 17 and 18 are both less than a 20

Great base
Sherston's location
in the South Cotswolds means it is ideally situated for Lacock (beautiful National Trust
village where Cranford, Pride & Prejudice, and Harry Potter have all been filmed), Castle Coombe
(another beautiful village where War Horse and Dr Dolittle have all been filmed), and Westonbirt
National Arboretum (one
of the
most spectacular tree gardens in the world - even more so with the
onset of Autumnal colours and enchanted Christmas
illuminated woodland trail) is only ~3miles down the
country lanes.
Not much further South about 30 minutes by car you'll discover
England's finest Georgian town Bath, where you can explore the
famous Roman Baths, and even treat yourself to Britain's only
natural thermal water spa. The Historic harbour
city of Bristol is also only 30 minutes away, where you can board
Brunel's SS Great Britain the world's first great ocean liner. A
bit closer just 10
minutes away are the traditional market towns of
Tetbury (England's premier destination for antique hunters and home
to King Charles's much visited Highgrove Shop) and Malmesbury (England's oldest borough dating back over 1,000 years with it's imposing Norman Abbey).
Northwards
you can further exlore the beautiful Cotswolds countryside, towns
(e.g. Cirencester, Gloucester and
Cheltenham) and other beautiful villages (e.g.
Bibury with its 14th Century Arlington Row of Cottages, Bourton-on-the-Water,
Stow-on-the Wold, Chipping Campden, Burford, and Broadway). One
of the many much visited family attractions is Countryfile
presenter Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park, where you have the
opportunity to experience the stunning diversity of animals and plants
by completing a 2 mile wildlife walk and take in wonderful views
across a rolling Cotswold landscape.
There are also some lovely Cotswold Way circular walks, which you can view online and print off in advance.
You can also easily explore the mysterious and
beautiful county of Wiltshire. The delightful market town of Bradford
on Avon is only a 40 minute drive away, where you can browse craft shops and
stroll along the canal towpath or even enjoy a cruise. Just
a little further Southwards over Salisbury Plain you'll discover
the UK's iconic Stonehenge and ancient settlements like Amesbury. There's also the famous Longleat Safari and Adventure
Park, about an hour's drive from the Cottage.

"Royal"
destination
It's
not surprising that celebrities and
Royalty have chosen to live in this wonderful part of the
world with Gatcombe Park (famous for its annual August horse
trials)
the home of Princess Anne. Also nearby is Highgrove the estate of
King Charles and weekday tours of the renown Gardens at Highgrove may
be booked on-line, together with a series of seasonal demonstrations, hands-on workshops and Christmas black-tie diner.
King Charles is also the Patron of The Beaufort Polo Club
which is only a few miles away.
